Frequently Asked Questions
What Fat Percentage Is Your Ground Beef?
Each cow that goes to our USDA butcher is individually cut and wrapped. This results in our packages having a range which happens to be extra lean. Overall we have found that it will be from 90% - 97%. Our butcher also does not add extra fat or pink slime to the ground beef which what grocery stores prefer to ensure an exact 80/20 or 90/10 ratio. We work closely with our butcher to ensure the highest quality ground beef that you will find.
Do You Raise Your Own Cattle?
We did for three years and then we transitioned into supporting our neighboring ranches. We are able to pay them a premium for their cattle and every week a new rancher is calling us about their cattle. We absolutely love cattle and all that goes into that side of the ranching business. So it's our goal to start building our herd back up in the coming months. Of course we will always continue sourcing beef from our neighbors as we know there is no community without them.
Will My Beef Arrive Frozen?
Yes, all our shipments are packaged in environmentally friendly thermal liners and thick cardboard boxes. We then add several pounds of dry ice nuggets with each shipment. This combination allows us to ship direct to your front door without thawing or spoiled meat.
Where Do You Ship?
We offer shipping via UPS, USPS and FedEx, directly to homes in the Pacific Northwest. This includes all homes in Oregon, Washington, Idaho. As well as families in Eastern Montana, Northern Nevada and Northern California. Although offering shipping to all states in the lower 48 is possible, it would require air shipments. We feel that us shipping using air is not the most environmentally sound practice and would eventually begin to offset the positive environmental impacts that the ranchers we support are making.
Absolutely not! Every cow has been raised right here on Oregon pastures. Something that isn't talked about much at all is how foreign beef has hurt the American Grass-fed Beef Industry. Today over 85% of the Grass-fed Beef sold in the US is from International Sources. This has many negative impacts on American ranchers and consumers, yet it isn't talked about. We believe that our business shall provide for our local community in every way that it can. It starts with the local ranchers.
